As we all probably know by now, large parts of the world have been on fire for quite some time. Parts that are mostly not supposed to be on fire (some ecosystems actually do need the fires to help clear space for the next generation of things to grow in, but that's a whole other thing).
In particular, Australia has been hit particularly badly with a combination of long, hot and dry summers for the last few years. You've most likely seen the devastation in the news and, perhaps like us, you've wanted to do something to help but have been at a complete loss on how to actually be useful without buying a one way ticket over there and setting up a koala reservation.
For those unwilling or unable to do such direct action themselves, we are in the process of putting together an alternative way to support the people on the scene - a short story charity book!
A few authors have already signed on to the project though we are still looking for more. (Send us an email if you are a writer and interested in helping out!) The book will be released as soon as is humanly possible and will contain short stories from a variety of genres; we are shooting for the 'a little bit of something for everyone' approach. All profit made from this book will be going straight to charities and wildlife services in Australia (we will let you know which ones when we have decided). For clarity, profit, in this case, means every penny not taken away from the sale by Amazon to cover their own printing costs.
